Veteran British actor Timothy West is confined to a wheelchair while he recovers from a broken ankle.

The Day of the Jackal star received the injury in a fall and underwent an operation to repair the damage.

His ankle was set in plaster and the actor has been using crutches and a wheelchair to get around.

Wst, 79, was concerned the injury would cost him his new job on the U.K. soap opera EastEnders, and was relieved when the TV bosses assured him they would accommodate his injury.

Speaking on the U.K. TV show The Alan Titchmarsh Show, West said, "As you can see I'm on crutches which is not my permanent state- employers please note- I just happened to fall over and break my ankle... I had to... ring up the EastEnders people and say, 'Look, I've broken my ankle. I'm terribly sorry.' They said, 'Oh no, that's perfectly alright... we'll write that in.' I said, 'No, you don't understand- I've had an operation, I'm in plaster.' (They said) 'That's alright that doesn't bother us.' (I said) 'I have to move about in a wheelchair'- 'Alright we can get you a wheelchair'- they were terrific."

Actress Emma Watson injured her foot on the set of Sofia Coppola's new movie The Bling Ring after a

stiletto wearing extra put her heel through Watson's toe. Owie! Just another reason not to wear stilettos- not only do they hurt your feet, they are a lethal weapon!

The former Harry Potter star plays one of the "Bling-Ring" thieves, who stole more than $3 million worth of items from the Hollywood homes of celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Orlando Bloom. In one particular scene Watson heads to a nightclub to party.

Watson told Teen Vogue, "We were doing this scene in a nightclub and this girl accidentally put her stiletto through my toe! And the crazy thing is, I had so much adrenaline going through my system that I just kept dancing until, finally, I looked down at my foot and saw the blood."

The actress has also made news recently after condemning extravagant celebrity lifestyles. Watson called this lifestyle "consumerism as a form of kleptomania."

Watson, who has a reported fortune of $26 million pounds,  revealed she only owns eight pairs of shoes and was flabbergasted walking into some of the celebrity homes they shot The Bling Ring in.

The celebrity who had the most items stolen from her house, heiress Paris Hilton, gave permission for them to film in her home. Watson said walking into Hilton's expansive walk-in closets was like walking into a department store.

"She could never wear all of those clothes and half of them were brand new and she still had the price tag on. But I suppose she just bought them to have them. We've all bought things on impulse but that's an entirely different thing," Watson said.

Rapper iTCH pulled out a London gig earlier this month to have surgery on his foot after sustaining a gross injury during a performance.

The Bruises hitmaker broke three bones in his heel when he jumped from a balcony during an over the top performance at The Jazz Cafe in London as part of the Camden Rocks Festival.

iTCH, real name Jonathan Fox, was scheduled to appear with American star Action Bronson at the nearby KOKO nightclub, but instead had an operation to fix his broken bones.

The rapper posted a picture of himself hanging from the balcony before the jump on his Facebook page, along with a photo of his bandaged foot, with a caption, "Camden rocks! Hospital sucks!"

He added, "I'm gutted to be missing this gig! If I wasn't knocked out with anesthetic I'd be fighting through doctors to get there in a wheelchair shouting, 'Put your crutches up!'"

Next time no hanging from balconies, iTCH.

Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz broke his ankle last Monday, less than a year after twisting it last May.

The actor now drummer is refusing to let this injury stop him from touring with his band, Kingsfoil, which is travelling across the U.S. as part of a North American tour.

Tuesday he tweeted, "Totally re-broke my foot yesterday playing basketball with @kingsfoil. 9 more shows left before we head to tour the United Kingdom!"

Muniz's health has been less than 100 percent this last year. Besides twisting his ankle last May, he announced on Twitter the day before he turned 27 he had suffered a mini stroke. "I was in the hospital last Friday. I suffered a "Mini Stroke", which was not fun at all. Have to start taking care of my body! Getting old!"

Muniz had been riding his motorcycle when the vision went in one of his eyes. He then had problems speaking. "I couldn't say words," Muniz recalled. "I thought I was saying them! My fiancee was looking at me like I was speaking a foreign language!"

We hope your health improves from here on out, Frankie! Stay safe and take care of yourself!
