Achilles Tendon Injuries are common because they extend from the heel bone to the calf muscles. The pain associated with this type of injury can range from a scorching feeling to severe pain if it tears. Activities that increase the risk of an injury to the Achilles tendon include running, ballet or even high intensity sports. Sudden movements when lifting the foot and immediate actions can also lead to this condition.
